FACULTY OF DENTISTRY
The Faculty of Dentistry is an academic unit dedicated to the comprehensive training of future dental professionals, usually through a 5-year full-time undergraduate program. Students graduate with qualifications such as a Bachelor of Dental Surgery (BDS) or Doctor of Dental Medicine (DMD), enabling them to practice as general dentists.

Academic Structure & Curriculum
Education typically follows a progressive model divided into two main phases:
- Pre-clinical Years (Years 1–2):
Focus on foundational sciences including anatomy, physiology, biochemistry, histology, and medical biology. Students practice techniques in simulation labs using modern dental chairs and mannequins. - Clinical Years (Years 3–5):
Students transition to direct patient care under expert supervision in university-affiliated clinics. This phase covers diagnostics, treatment planning, and advanced procedures.
Specialized Departments
Faculties are organized into several specialized departments that drive both teaching and clinical practice:
Therapeutic Dentistry: Focused on conservative treatments like fillings and oral disease prevention.
Orthodontics: Specialized in correcting bite irregularities and tooth alignment.
Pediatric Dentistry: Dedicated to oral care for infants, children, and adolescents.
Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery: Handling complex extractions, implants, and facial surgeries.
Prosthodontics: The science of artificial teeth, including crowns, bridges, and dentures.
Endodontics: Focused on root canal therapy and treating conditions inside the tooth.
Career & Research Opportunities
Graduates can pursue diverse paths, including establishing a private practice, working in public health, or entering academic research. Research often focuses on modern advancements like digital dentistry (CAD/CAM), dental biomaterials, and community oral health initiatives.
Classes are taught in English. The university education system strictly follows international standards like NMC, PMDC, WDOMS, and WHO.
